"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

im sorry i guess your photos arent really stock and up for grabs but if i could have your permission id like to stumble through your work and give it my own kinda style. is that cool?
your pics are great, i like the dark eyes and angle and all that, so what i woudl like to do is take one of your pics and redo it illustartor, give it a different look. and then use it in my portfolio. i would let you know ahead of time what picture it would be and ask for your permission to use it.
